PRINCIPAL'S NEWSLETTER

23rd July 2010

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

Another year has flown by and Friday sees the end of our School year.

Class 1SM had their two, one day Outdoor Pursuits trips to Avebury and Rutland Water, both trips went very well.

The Year 11’s have successfully completed their GCSE exams. All the boys should be extremely proud of themselves with the way they conducted themselves during the exam period. We wish them all the best for the future.

The Year 10’s completed their first work experience block last week, which was very successful, well done!

For Activity Week we took 19 boys to Great Hucklow in Derbyshire with 9 staff, again very successful. We went caving, gorge walking, rock scrambling; visited some tourist sites, a bike ride on the Tissington Trail, swimming and ice-skating.

The boys who stayed in school went to London, Drayton Manor, golf, activities in Milton Keynes, Irthlingborough and an Indian Theme day in school culminating with a Seaside theme day in school on Friday with a barbecue at lunch time. A very successful week.

Our Open Day raised over £900 and lots of faces from the past and present came along to join in the fun.

This week six classes have gone out on their Class outings and all have gone well.

Our Staff v boys Cricket and Softball matches went well.

Thursday was our Leavers Festival where we said good-bye to our Year11’s.

Today we say good-bye to our newly qualified Primary Teacher Mr Palmer, who is moving on to teach in Milton Keynes. We wish him good luck in the future.

A few reminders for all, boys should wear full school uniform including black shoes (not trainers) and no jewellery e.g. ear-rings to be worn in school.

Finally, I would like to wish you all a happy and sunny Summer holiday.

Yours sincerely

John Brown
Principal
